The department is also home to the Midlands Endoscopy Training Academy (META), and in 2022 was recognised as a regional training hub. This means we play an important role in supporting and training healthcare professionals in endoscopy.
The academy provides a range of JAG-accredited courses, from essential training for those starting in endoscopy to more advanced courses that develop specialist skills. Training is available for doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals working in endoscopy.
By supporting education, sharing best practice, and encouraging continuous development, the academy helps ensure high standards of care and improves the safety and quality of endoscopy services across the region.
