From the North – take J11 off the M6 then follow Cannock Rd/A460 to Wolverhampton (go through four roundabouts). Turn left to Bushbury Road and continue onto Church Street. Keep left at the fork then turn left onto Wolverhampton Road then take the second left to New Cross Hospital.

From the South – take J10a off the M6 then follow the M54. Take the slip road to Cannock Rd/A460 off the M54. At the roundabout take the first exit onto Cannock Rd/A460 to Wolverhampton (go through four roundabouts). Turn left onto Bushbury Road and continue onto Church Street. Keep left at the fork, then turn left onto Wolverhampton Road then take the second left to New Cross Hospital.

From Wolverhampton City Centre – take the ring road St. Patricks/A4150 then turn left onto the Wednesfield Rd/A4124 then continue to follow Wednesfield Rd/A4124 then take slight left into Wolverhampton Rd then take the second left into New Cross Hospital.

New Cross Hospital has six designated patient and visitor car parks within its site. All car parks can be accessed from the hospital main entrance on Wolverhampton Road.

A weekly (7 consecutive days) parking ticket allows an unlimited number of entries to visitor barrier controlled car parks within the specified 7-day period.

The Trust provides Free Parking for Renal/Oncology patients. For further details about these concessions please contact the department where the treatment is being delivered.

There are designated accessible parking spaces both within the barrier-controlled visitor car parks and in dedicated roadside areas around the hospital. Blue Badge holders are exempt from the standard parking charges. Blue Badge holders parked on barrier controlled car parks are required to scan the barcode on the rear of their Blue Badge at either the payment kiosk or exit barrier. You can get assistance by contacting the Security and Car Parking Office via the Intercom on the kiosk/barrier or by calling 01902 695344.

Applying concessions at Kiosk:

• Input your vehicle registration number on the payment kiosk
• When it asks for payment, scan the barcode located on the rear of your badge. This should clear your charge
• Drive to the exit barrier and it will raise automatically

Applying concessions at the Exit Barrier:

• Drive to the exit barrier, the ANPR will recognise your vehicle registration plate and display a charge
• Remove the blue badge from any holders and scan the barcode located on the rear of your blue badge with the barcode facing upwards
• Barrier will lift and you are free to leave

Barrier controlled visitor car parks operate using an automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) system. The number plate of a vehicle entering a barrier-controlled car park is recorded. Before returning to the vehicle to leave the car park the number plate of the vehicle must be entered on the touch screen in the pay station. Once the correct payment has been made the exit barrier will automatically lift as the vehicle approaches to leave the car park. If you need a receipt, you can request this at the time of making payment.

As the New Cross Hospital site is under increasing pressure for vehicle parking, we encourage patients and visitors to think differently about how they travel and consider more sustainable methods of transport, for using public transport, if available.

New Cross Hospital is within easy reach of Wolverhampton Town Centre. The nearest bus station is Wolverhampton Bus Station, next to Wolverhampton Railway Station in the city centre, approximately two miles away.

Shuttle bus service (free for patients / staff)

A shuttle bus service is available for patients and staff travelling between New Cross Hospital and Cannock Chase Hospital.

The service is free to patients with a valid RWT appointment letter and staff with an ID badge.

The service, with a 15-seater minibus, operates Monday to Friday (not including public holidays).

Please note that there is only one shuttle bus stop on the New Cross Site, which is located outside the Heart and Lung centre entrance, by the coffee shop.

Wolverhampton has a regular main line train service with trains arriving from Birmingham approximately every 30 minutes. The nearest train station to the hospital is Wolverhampton Station, which is approximately two miles away.

Midland Metro is the light rail system for the West Midlands. It operates between Birmingham and Wolverhampton via key locations including West Bromwich, Bilston and Wednesbury. The route has 23 stops, four of which have Park and Ride facilities.

It operates seven days a week with a ‘turn up and go’ every eight minutes during the day and every 15 minutes during the evenings and on Sundays.
