Lived Experience Partners

Have your say – become a Lived Experience Partner

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is inviting people to become Lived Experience Partners and help shape NHS services using their lived experience.

Lived Experience Partners are patients, carers, parents or family members who work alongside staff to improve services through co‑design – making sure services are developed with the people who use them.

How you can get involved

Involvement is flexible and choice‑based. You can choose what suits you, including:

  • Completing surveys or questionnaires
  • Reviewing patient information such as letters or leaflets
  • Sense‑checking ideas or communications
  • Attending events, forums or discussion sessions (online or in person)
  • Optional involvement in quality improvement or patient safety work

There is no minimum time commitment, and support is provided at every stage.

Who can apply

We welcome people from all backgrounds and communities, especially those whose voices are not always heard in healthcare decision‑making.

No NHS experience is needed – your lived experience is what matters.

What you’ll receive

  • Induction, training and ongoing support
  • Reimbursement of out‑of‑pocket expenses
  • Flexible involvement that fits around your life
  • Recognition of your contribution, including annual thank‑you and feedback on the impact you’ve made
