The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust (RWT) is one of the largest healthcare providers in the West Midlands – covering acute, community and primary care services.
Our services cover the population of Wolverhampton, the wider Black Country, South Staffordshire, North Worcestershire, and Shropshire.
We are a specialist centre for a number of services, including cancer, stroke, and heart and lung.
We are also the host for the Black Country Pathology Services’ (BCPS) hub – a single pathology service that covers all four local hospital trusts: RWT, Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, and Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust.
Our New Cross site is the largest teaching hospital in the Black Country, providing teaching and training to medical students on rotation from the University of Birmingham Medical School and Aston University.
It also provides training for nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals (AHPs) through well-established links with the University of Wolverhampton.
The Trust is the established host for the Clinical Research Network: West Midlands, and the West Midlands Cancer Alliance.
We work collaboratively with Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust and share a joint strategy, and we are proud to be part of Healthier Futures – the Black Country Integrated Care System (ICS), which brings health and social care services together to deliver better health outcomes for people across the Black Country.
