A party to mark the 77th birthday of the NHS also marked a big change for the Trust’s Charity today as it unveiled its exciting new brand.
Your RWTC, the registered Charity for The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, has refreshed its commitment to its people, patients and community by launching a new logo and values.
The new look was launched at the birthday party Your RWTC organised today to give patients, visitors and staff an opportunity to reflect on more than seven decades of the National Health Service – founded on 5 July 1948.
The event was held in the marquee outside the Emergency Department where people could buy gifts and play games while Porter Steve Baxter entertained with his unrideable bike.
The RWT Choir sang for the crowds to mark the special occasion and the Trust’s catering team served up food for visitors.
Lucie Burke, Catering Supervisor, attended the event as one of the stallholders.
She said: “It was a lovely event. It was so nice to join in and speak to other staff and patients. There is a fantastic atmosphere and it feels we are showcasing the hospital.
“I think it is so important to support the Trust’s Charity as we are all one family and should help each other.”
The Mayor of Wolverhampton, Councillor Craig Collingswood, attended the event to give his support as Your RWTC is one of his chosen charities for his term.
He said: “I am really excited to be here today celebrating the Trust and meeting some wonderful staff and showing my gratitude
“I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who puts their heart and soul into caring for our communities through the hospital and community services run by The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust.
“From the smiling faces of the cleaners on the wards, to the friendly Porters who transport patients around the sites, the dedication of Doctors, Nurses, AHPs and everyone who plays a clinical role and those providing support services – you are all one in a million.
“A very Happy Birthday NHS, with my warmest wishes to Wolverhampton.”
Amanda Winwood, Charity Development Manager, added: “It was great to launch the new Charity brand today at our summer birthday party for the NHS.
“It has been developed after listening to our communities and our staff. We want people to be proud and own the charity.
“We are here to make a real difference to more than half a million patients treated at the Trust.
“We are also looking for Charity Champions who can help us make a real difference. Lots of people have signed up today and had a free ice cream as our way of saying thank you. All in all we’ve had a smashing day and thank everyone who has supported our event.””
