Older Adult Medicine

Our team of doctors, nurses and therapists provides care to older adults with a wide variety of medical conditions. The service includes a dedicated Frailty Same Day Emergency Care Service (SDEC) at New Cross Hospital.

The Frailty SDEC is a designated area where older patients with urgent care needs can be assessed and treated within the same day.

We also provide a specialist rehabilitation ward at Cannock Chase Hospital, for older adults resident in South Staffordshire, following a stroke, orthopaedic, or general medical conditions.
