Haematology

Our Clinical Haematology team provides care and treatment for people who have disorders of the blood. These disorders include cancers of blood cells, as well as non-cancerous conditions, such as bleeding disorders and anaemia.

At New Cross Hospital, we have a dedicated Haematology ward, day case unit, and outpatient clinics.

We provide a number of services within Haematology, including clinical, support and laboratory services. We also carry out extensive Research and Trials, as well as train the next generation of doctors. If you are interested in taking part in a clinical trial, please speak to your clinician, who will be able to tell you what studies are currently available.

Haematology CNS (clinical nurse specialist) Team
The Haematology CNS Team is a group of nurses with specialist skills, knowledge, and experience in haematology conditions who provide support and information to patients, as well as their families, throughout their treatment. They work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of health professionals. The team holds face-to-face and telephone clinics from Monday to Friday to review and monitor patients.
