Gynaecology and Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit (GAU/EPAU)

Our Gynaecology and Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit (GAU/EPAU) is a specialised service that provides rapid access to specialist nursing and medical teams for women with acute gynaecological problems and early pregnancy complications up to 16 weeks.

The service aims to always provide the best care, ensuring privacy and dignity is maintained. It also ensures patients are involved in all aspects of their care, and any decisions made are with full and informed consent.

The department is staffed by specialist nurses, medical professionals, and sonographers. Patients may be seen by either a consultant, specialist nurse, or a doctor in training during consultation (with referral to a consultant if necessary).
