What we do
Our Emergency Department (ED) is based at New Cross hospital, where our team of doctors, nurses and therapists provide care and treatment for people who have received a serious injury, sudden severe illness, or suffered a medical emergency.
An emergency is a critical or life-threatening situation, such as:
- loss of consciousness
- acute confused state and fits that are not stopping
- persistent, severe chest pain
- breathing difficulties
- severe bleeding that cannot be stopped
- severe allergic reactions
- severe burns or scalds
- sepsis
- severe sudden onset headache
- severe abdominal pain
