What we do
Clinical Illustration is the recording of clinical conditions for use in your patient record and can include photography, video or audio recordings. They are used by Health Care Professionals to help monitor clinical conditions and are often used in the treatment planning process along with other tests such as X-rays, scans and blood tests. The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is a teaching Trust and with your permission, clinical photographs can also be used for teaching doctors, nurses and other medical professionals. A Clinical Photographer will take your photograph. Clinical Photographers are specially trained to work with patients and clinicians to record images of conditions that may help your treatment. They are all registered Health Care Professionals with the Academy for Health Care Scientists (AHCS) and are governed by the code of professional conduct of their professional body – the Institute of Medical Illustrators (IMI).
