Bowel cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the UK and the second leading cause of cancer deaths. Screening is a simple and effective way to diagnose bowel cancer or detect the early signs of the disease before it becomes serious. This helps to prevent unnecessary deaths.
The Wolverhampton Bowel Cancer Screening Centre is based at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton and covers the eligible population of Wolverhampton, Dudley, Walsall and the peninsula of South Staffordshire.
The service provides new patient and surveillance clinics weekly. The Bowel cancer screening procedures are undertaken at New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton, Cannock Chase Hospital, Cannock, and Russells Hall Hospital, Dudley.
