Before booking your blood test
Blood tests in the community are by appointment only, you will be turned away without an appointment. Appointments are available for patients aged 5 years and over (with the exception of New Cross Hospital and Cannock Chase Hospital, details below).
Please help us maximise our available appointments by only booking one blood test appointment per patient.
If you require multiple blood tests, you are only required to book one blood test appointment as the relevant requests will be completed during the same appointment.
To book a blood test appointment please follow these instructions:
- If your blood test is a ROUTINE request, please use the on-line booking system to book your appointment within 10 working days.
- If your blood test request is for PLANNED TREATMENT, please use the on-line booking system to book your appointment for the required date.
- If your blood test is an URGENT request, please use the on-line booking system to book your appointment within 3 working days.
- For URGENT and PLANNED TREATMENT blood tests, if there are no slots available across all venues to book within 3 working days, please call the Urgent Phlebotomy Line on 01902 442607 (9am – 12noon Monday to Friday) to book your appointment.
Important – Please Note:

- New Cross Hospital and Cannock Chase Hospital offer blood test slots daily (Monday – Friday) for GP referred blood tests only. Bookings are for ADULTS ONLY (18 years and over)

- You are not required to bring a printed blood form to the appointment; however, a blood request must have been made by the relevant health care professional in order for us to complete your blood test. - Clinics are run as multi-patient clinics, if you prefer to be seen privately please inform the staff at reception when checking in for your appointment.
