What we do


At Pendeford Health Centre, our friendly phlebotomy team at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is here to make your blood test experience as comfortable and straightforward as possible. We understand that having a blood test can sometimes feel a bit daunting, but our skilled staff are experts at taking blood samples quickly and gently. We perform these essential tests to help your doctors understand your health better and make informed decisions about your care. You can expect a professional, caring, and efficient service every time you visit us for your blood test.

Where we are based


The Community Phlebotomy Service is based at Pendeford Health Centre and offers clinic appointments across the city an surrounding area, Monday – Friday 8:30am* – 4:30pm, Saturday and Sunday 7:00am – 3:00pm. (*Phoenix Health Centre operates 7:00am – 3:00pm Monday – Sunday). The Service also offers domiciliary visits for housebound patients.

How to access the service


All patients who require blood tests as requested by their GP or Healthcare professional can book a clinic appointment via the below link.

Where a patient requires a domiciliary visit, the request form must be completed by the GP or Healthcare professional requesting the blood test.

Who our Service Can See

  • Our blood testing service at Pendeford Health Centre is here for you if you are registered with a Wolverhampton GP and have a Wolverhampton postcode. We can carry out blood tests for any reason your doctor or healthcare professional has requested one.
  • We welcome anyone aged 5 years or above to our clinic. If you are unable to leave your home because you are housebound, your GP or another healthcare professional can refer you for a home visit.

Who Our Service Cannot See

Unfortunately, there are a couple of situations where we are unable to provide a blood test:

  • If you are a child under the age of 5.
  • If you are not registered with a Wolverhampton GP or do not have a Wolverhampton postcode.
