Christopher Innerarity, Ifeoma Ndukwe and Giselle Padmore-Payne
Staff on a mission to drive change and put equality and inclusion at the heart of healthcare at a Wolverhampton NHS Trust have been shortlisted for a national award.
Christopher Innerarity, Giselle Padmore-Payne and Ifeoma Ndukwe have been shortlisted for the National B.A.M.E Health & Care Awards 2025.
The annual awards, in their sixth year, spotlight achievements of black and minority ethnic staff and allies who break barriers, champion equity, and transform lives.
The shortlisted nominees from The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust are:
Christoper, who also chairs the Trust’s BAME Employee Voice Group and Strategic Council, said: “This recognition is deeply meaningful and a testament to many years of service, resilience and commitment.
“I’ve had the privilege of working alongside fantastic mentors, colleagues and friends who have allowed me to grow within my role and have embraced organisational change.
“I remain focused and dedicated to continuing to advocate for inclusivity and equality.”
Giselle, who recently celebrated 20 years in the NHS, said: “I am honoured to be shortlisted. Allyship is about listening, learning and helping each other – something I am very proud of.
“Through my background in nursing, and my role as Lead Freedom to Speak Up Guardian, my experience with different people and areas of healthcare, has helped shape who I am today.
“I will continue to be a strong ally, break barriers and challenge inequalities.”
Ifeoma, nominated for going above and beyond to support international nurses, recently achieved a MSc in Healthcare Leadership and is thrilled to be shortlisted.
She said: “Since joining the Trust it has been fantastic to work with a diverse group of people. It’s great to know that others acknowledge you and your achievements. I am proud to be able to support others within their career.”
Chris, Giselle and Ifeoma praised the Trust’s senior leaders and colleagues who have supported them and continue to inspire their work.
Winners will be announced during an awards ceremony in London on 25 September 2025.
