From 3 November, the Urgent Treatment Centre at Phoenix Health Centre, on Parkfield Road, Wolverhampton, will be closing two hours earlier. This means the opening hours will be 8am until 6pm, seven days a week. Outside of these hours you can access the Urgent Treatment Centre at New Cross Hospital, which is open 24/7, 365 days a year. Other services which are available to you include NHS 111 and your local pharmacist.

Wolverhampton and Walsall NHS staff have been thanked and celebrated for their combined 16,410 years of dedication to their careers.
A Long Service Awards event took place at The Willows in Willenhall yesterday (Tuesday 3 June) and celebrated both The Royal Wolverhampton and Walsall Healthcare NHS Trusts’ staff.
More than 200 staff were in attendance to celebrate reaching NHS working milestones of 25 years or more.
Award recipients were presented with a certificate and badge by Joe Chadwick-Bell, Group Chief Executive, as recognition for their continued dedication and commitment.
She said: “Thank you to each and every one of you. You should be incredibly proud of all you’ve done – for your patients, your community, your colleagues and yourselves. Today is a celebration of you and your dedicated service.”
Alan Duffell, Group Chief People Officer, acted as host – taking attendees through time with fun facts from years gone by.
Speaking to guests he said: “When you reflect on the number of patients, families and lives you’ve impacted, it’s truly remarkable. You should be incredibly proud. Thank you for your service.”
Rukman Kaur from RWT received flowers and cheers of applause from colleagues in recognition of her amazing 50 years’ service.
The Catering Assistant said: “I began my NHS career in 1975, spending 22 years at The Royal before moving to New Cross Hospital. I’ve enjoyed every moment – it’s been a big part of my life. A lot has changed over the years, but I’ve made many wonderful friends along the way.”
Louise Holland, Consultant Radiologist from Walsall Healthcare, has completed 40 years’ service.
She said: “I’m proud to be here – time has flown by. I feel just the same as when I started. Being at these awards is a great reminder of how incredible my colleagues are. What I’ve valued most in my career is the teamwork – coming together to provide outstanding care and serve our community.”
