Orthotics Team earns national recognition

A passionate Wolverhampton NHS team has been recognised nationally for its commitment to excellence in prosthetics and orthotics.

The Orthotics Team at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust has been shortlisted for three prestigious national awards, recognising its dedication, innovation, and excellence in patient care.

Staff are finalists in the following categories at the British Association of Prosthetics and Orthotics (BAPO) Awards 2026:

Orthotists play an essential role in modern healthcare, offering innovative and patient-centered solutions to complex physical challenges. Their combined engineering and clinical expertise ensure that patients receive tailored interventions that not only improve mobility and function but also enhance overall quality of life.

This marks the second consecutive year the team has been shortlisted for Best Prosthetics and Orthotics Team — a testament to its continued commitment to delivering outstanding patient care and advancing the profession.

Selected from more than 200 nominations, the team’s success reflects ongoing impact, innovation, and leadership in the field.

The winners will be announced at the BAPO Annual Awards Ceremony on 21 November.

Dr Nicky Eddison, Orthotics Service Manager, said: “I am extremely proud of the achievements of the Orthotics Team. Their dedication to excellence is remarkable, and they deserve all the recognition they are receiving.”
