Gill qualified from Birmingham University in 1990 and has been practising medicine as a GP in the Wolverhampton area since 1996, at Newbridge Surgery Wolverhampton.
Gill also leads Wolverhampton Total Health – one of the Primary Care Networks in Wolverhampton. Her work involves improving the quality of health and reduction of health inequalities to 60,000 patients.
