Accessibility and language support

We recognise that we care for people from diverse communities. It is important that our services are accessible to all our patients and visitors.

Communication support can be provided to help with your care.

If English is not your first language, we can arrange for an interpreter at your appointment.

To book an interpreter we need:

  • your appointment details, where and when it is
  • the language you need
  • as much notice as possible

We can also offer:

  • British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters and video interpreting
  • telephone interpreting: anytime, anywhere in our hospitals and community sites
  • translations of our printed health information leaflets in alternative languages, Braille, large print and Easy Read
  • hearing loops

If you need extra support, please contact us and we’ll try to help you.
