We understand that people are sometimes anxious about coming to hospital. The details in this section will give you a better understanding of what to expect and provide lots of information to make your visit to one of our hospitals as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

If you have any further questions or worries about your visit, please do not hesitate to contact the ward or department  mentioned in your admission letter. Our staff will be pleased to help you. Information that is specific to your ward will be provided separately.

If English is not your first language

If you cannot speak or understand English, please speak to the staff on the ward or in the department you are in. They will be able to arrange translation for you, either face to face or by telephone.

Smoke-free Hospitals and Community sites

Please note that our hospitals and community sites are smoke-free and smoking is only permitted in the designated smoking shelters. For more information, please speak to a member of staff who will be able to advise where the nearest smoking shelter is located.
