Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust and The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust are proud to mark International Nurses’ Day (12 May) and appreciate staff who work across their hospitals and community services.
This is a day dedicated to recognising the invaluable contributions of Nurses who deliver safe, compassionate and high-quality care around the world.
This year’s theme, set by the International Council of Nurses, is ‘Our Nurses. Our Future. Caring for Nurses strengthens economies’.
It shines a light on the crucial role Nurses play not only in patient outcomes, but in the sustainability and strength of healthcare systems.
Lisa Carroll, Chief Nursing Officer at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust said: “International Nurses’ Day is a special opportunity to pause and recognise the compassion, professionalism and resilience shown by our Nursing teams every single day.
Whether caring for patients in the clinical environment or their own homes, leading services, research and innovation or developing and educating the current and future generation; their contribution is truly at the heart of everything we do. I want to thank each and every Nurse for their dedication – you make a real difference.”
Debra Hickman, Chief Nursing Officer at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust said:
“Our Nurses consistently rise to the challenge, showing unwavering commitment no matter the challenge and circumstances. Their dedication to continue to strive for excellence in patient care is something we are incredibly proud of.
“International Nurses’ Day is not only about celebration, but reflection – acknowledging the impact of Nursing and how we continue to invest in and support this vital profession for the future.”
