Hospital visitors survey launched

Date of release: 23 August 2024

Friends and relatives of inpatients across two Black Country hospitals are being asked to take part in a survey which may lead to longer visiting slots being introduced.

The Patient Experience Team which works across Walsall Healthcare and The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trusts is carrying out a review across the Manor and New Cross Hospitals.

As well as gaining invaluable feedback from respondents, the team wants to work to encourage visitors to be seen as “partners in care” across the Trusts and is also developing a “Visitors’ Charter.”

Digital Champion volunteers will be out and about across both sites encouraging people to complete the survey to help shape future provision.

Garry Perry, Associate Director – Patient Voice for the Trusts, said: "Visiting loved ones and those you care about in a hospital setting is more than just a moment of comfort—it's a vital part of patient care.

“Your presence uplifts, reassures, and heals. By sharing your experiences through our visitor survey, you will help us to create a more compassionate and responsive environment for all. Your feedback will ensure that every visit continues to make a positive impact.”

Garry added that longer visiting periods may be considered across the hospitals – dependant on responses – and said a group had been set up to focus on this important area of healthcare.

The short survey is now open and will run over the next two weeks at both sites. It can be completed online via the links below:
